Who We Are

At WMC Design Build, we take great pride in our roots and the community we serve. Our work embodies our commitment to making a positive impact for those who need it most. Every project we undertake tells its own unique story, and we are dedicated to helping families bring their visions to life.

Our Design + Build approach is grounded in feasibility, reflecting our belief that thoughtful design and careful planning are key to achieving successful, on-budget, and beautiful builds. We strive to create a seamless process from the initial idea to the project's completion.

We are eager to support the community in all its endeavors here on Maui, with a special focus on the rebuild of Lahaina.

WMC Principal
  • Born and raised in Upcountry Maui, Jordan developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship from an early age. As a child, his reward for good behavior was visiting his father's construction sites, an experience that planted the seeds for a lifelong passion for building and design. His design sensibility is rooted in the simplicity and warmth of Plantation Modern and Pacific Northwest Modern styles. He values consistency, alignment, and the beauty of well-executed detailing, favoring natural materials and muted tones over ornamentation.

Now a driving force behind the founding of the Design Build Division, Jordan is committed to rebuilding Lahaina and giving back to the community he calls home. Whether he's working on construction projects for friends and family, or hunting, he thrives on staying active and being hands-on.

  • Lydia grew up in Olympia, Washington, and has always been drawn to pursuits that blend logic and creativity. With a background rooted in both math and science and a passion for music and writing, architecture became the ideal intersection of both sides of the brain. Lydia doesn’t gravitate toward a single style but finds value in how architecture responds to its context, whether through regional character, evolving materials, or shifting societal needs.

Now based in Seattle, she joined WMC for the chance to work on thoughtful housing design that responds to real community needs. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, backpacking, and exploring the city on foot or by bike, soaking up the best of the Pacific Northwest.

Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies, University of Washington

Master of Architecture, University of Virginia

Jason McBride

  • Originally from Estes Park, Colorado, Jason was drawn to architecture through a fascination with how a well-designed space can influence how people feel, work, and experience the world around them. He enjoys the entire process, from concept to completion, and finds fulfillment in creating environments that make a real impact on daily life and bring enjoyment to the users. He especially favors modern and industrial aesthetics. After studying architecture in Colorado and spending nearly 20 years in Hawaii, 16 of those on Maui, Jason now works remotely from Nakatsu, Oita, Japan, bringing both deep regional insight and a global perspective to his work. In early 2025, he was excited to join WMC Design Build to contribute to the Lahaina rebuild and help restore, in some part, the community he once called home.

Outside of architecture, Jason practices Iaido and Kenbu and is active in church life.

Max currently works in office, contributing to projects that are grounded, thoughtful, and connected to their environment.

Outside of work, he spends his time surfing, playing disc golf, and enjoying the outdoors, interests that continue to inform his approach to design.

  • Born and raised in Richmond, BC, Yuki’s journey into architecture began unexpectedly after a registration mix-up led her to UBC’s Environmental Design program. Drawn to the creative coursework and collaborative community, Yuki developed a passion for purposeful design and meaningful impact. Yuki thrives on engaging with critical and creative thinkers and now works remotely in Vancouver alongside close friends on projects that feel both fulfilling and important. • Kaia grew up in Makawao, Hawaiʻi, and has been sketching facades and section plans for as long as she can remember. The field of architecture came naturally to her, an extension of her creativity and curiosity about how spaces shape people’s lives. She was drawn to its ability to shape not just our environments, but also our mindset and daily experience. She’s inspired by Nordic Modernism’s calming simplicity, and subtle playfulness, alongside Dutch Modernism’s bold geometry and expressive forms.

Through this internship, Kaia is eager to apply the skills she’s learned in school to real-world projects and take her architectural practice to the next level. Outside of architecture, she enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and soaking up the sun at the beach. She loves discovering new places and embracing new adventures.
